You need to set it so that the overlays are above the global scenery directory, and the ortho is below the global scenery. Open x plane, then close it, and open the scenery ini file with notepad in the custom scenery directory. Then, go to the ortho4xp root folder, look for the overlays folder that was just created, and move it to your scenery storage and then do the same thing. If you have a massive hard drive already and want to keep it all in one drive with the game itself, then just do a cut and paste. It creates a shortcut to the actual scenery file so you can have the massive scenery file located on a separate drive. Once it’s done, you’ll take the ortho scenery from wherever you set it to download to from the main screen, and copy it then go to the x plane custom scenery folder and right click, select “PASTE SHORTCUT”, not paste. Go to map mode, then shift-click on the tiles you want to download, then from the checkboxes select everything except the cfg one. On the main screen set your zoom level from the drop down. You’ll want to use a separate hard drive for scenery, it’s massive. Se the directory on the main screen to where you want the scenery to go. Save it by selecting “write to app cfg” so you don’t have to enter the settings every time. Set high_zl_airports to true or whatever it is for yes. In the settings make sure that your overlay source is set to X plane root folder > global scenery > global scenery.
